Expansion of Hunehar Welfare School

AOP team identified Hunehar Welfare School in G-12 (Mera Abadi) Islamabad which was established and administered by a group of devoted students. In the charitable school, children from underprivileged families are enrolled as students and are provided free modern education till 5th grade. Motivated by youngsters’ enthusiasm for social responsibilities, AOP Trustees decided to contribute to the welfare project – Hunehar Welfare School. The management was approached and consulted to inquire that what probable steps could be taken in this regard. They requested contribution towards expansion of the school.

AOP decided to arrange a complete classroom for 25 fresh students. A handsome amount was gifted as a donation to procure chairs, desks, white board, classroom wiring, LCD, gifts for the students and other accessories. The school management invited AOP Trustees and team for the formal inauguration of the classroom.

AOP trustees inaugurated the classroom, met with the children and their families and the entire management of the Hunehar. Mr Shafiq Akbar, Chairman Graana Group of Companies and the founding Chairman of AOP expressed a desire that a similar project should be initiated in the Rawalpindi region where too underprivileged children lack access to modern and free education. The Hunehar team was tasked with the responsibility to carry out a feasibility survey of the site and propose workable operational models for the functioning of the school. He directed that Graana Group of Companies will financially support the project under Graana Foundation.

Moreover, AOP also adopted several students in the Hunehar Welfare School whose yearly academic expenses will be borne by the Association.
